Born in Madison, Wisconsin, I was encouraged at an early age to pursue my artistic aspirations...

I received my early arts education through the public school system in Madison where I developed an appreciation for many artistic pursuits, including stained glass.   I attended Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan on scholarship and received a B.F.A. in Illustration in 1995.  After working as an illustrator for a short time I decided to go back to school, after which I received a second B.F.A. in 2002 this time in Furniture Design.  I now work as a furniture designer for a major furniture manufacturer.

I started my work as a stained glass artist and designer in 1991 under the tutelage of an instructor. While I enjoyed the glasswork as a hobby, I quickly discovered I wanted more. I opened my studio in 1994 and started doing art fairs. To further my skills I spent two years working with a stained glass studio, completing projects (from design, fabrication and installation) such as ecclesiastical windows, commercial and residential commissions.

My current work is largely inspired by my appreciation for my natural surroundings, both plant and animal life.  When I am not designing glass, I am reading about it, and find great inspiration in the artists from the turn-of-the-last-century, mostly Craftsman and Art Nouveau designers and in particular Louis Comfort Tiffany.  Further inspiration comes from my intense interest in period architecture and ornamental detail.   There is nothing I love more than a new commission that involves a challenging design problem that will enhance one’s home or business.

My studio is located in the small Mississippi river town of Trempealeau, Wisconsin.
